In the year 2000, he joined with Vít Havránek and Jiří Skála to found Production of Contemporary Activities, which among other things helped to prepare and realize, in cooperation with the Projektil architectural studio, an overall concept for the works of art to be placed within the new National Technical Library in Prague 6. In 2001, he was awarded the Jindřich Chalupecký Award for artists under 35. At the time, his work involved the creation of inconspicuous situations in public space and playing with the phenomenon of stereotypes in semantics as well as the media. Around the year 2006, he began to create audio situations using binaural microphones and worked with Floex on the project Living Score. He is currently involved in the Tranzit and Tranzitdisplay associations. Tomáš Vaněk lives and works in Prague.
